Thales of Miletus era un filosofo greco pre-socratico di Mileto in Asia Minore, e uno dei sette saggi della Grecia (Thales of Miletus), Thalēs (624 - 546 aC). Molti, in particolare Aristotele, lo considerano il primo filosofo della tradizione greca.
