Torus
Nella geometria, un toro è una superficie di rivoluzione generata ruotando un cerchio nello spazio tridimensionale intorno ad un asse complanare al cerchio. Se l'asse della rivoluzione non tocca il cerchio, la superficie ha una forma anulare e viene chiamata torusione dell'anello o semplicemente torus se la forma dell'anello è implicita. Quando l'asse è tangente al cerchio, la superficie risultante viene chiamata torusione di corno; Quando l'asse è un accordo del cerchio, viene chiamato un torus fuso. Un caso degenerato è quando l'asse è un diametro del cerchio, che genera semplicemente una 2-sfera. Il toro anulare lega un solido noto come toroide.
