Vulcanizzazione
La vulcanizzazione è un processo chimico per la conversione di gomma naturale o polimeri correlati in materiali più durevoli mediante l'aggiunta di zolfo o di altri curativi o acceleratori equivalenti. Questi additivi modificano il polimero formando i collegamenti incrociati tra le singole catene polimeriche. I materiali vulcanizzati sono meno appiccicosi e hanno proprietà meccaniche superiori.
