Una forza di resa o un punto di resa di un materiale è definita in ingegneria e scienza dei materiali come lo stress con cui un materiale comincia a deformarsi in modo plastico. Prima del punto di resa il materiale deformerà in modo elastico e tornerà alla sua forma originale quando viene rimosso lo stress applicato. Una volta che il punto di resa è passato, una certa frazione della deformazione sarà permanente e non reversibile. Nello spazio tridimensionale delle sollecitazioni principali, un numero infinito di punti di resa formano insieme una superficie di resa. La conoscenza del punto di resa è fondamentale quando si progetta un componente in quanto generalmente rappresenta un limite superiore al carico che può essere applicato. È anche importante per il controllo di molte tecniche di produzione di materiali quali forgiatura, laminazione o pressatura. Nell'ingegneria strutturale, si tratta di una modalità di guasto morbido che normalmente non provoca fallimento catastrofico o guasto finale se non accelera l'iniezione.
