干渉計は、波に関する情報を抽出するために、通常は電磁波である波を重ね合わせた技術群です。 干渉計は、天文学、光ファイバー、工学計測学、光学計測学、海洋学、地震学、分光学、量子力学、核・粒子物理学、プラズマ物理学、リモートセンシング、生体分子相互作用、表面プロファイリング、マイクロ流体工学、メカニカル 応力/ひずみ測定、および速度測定に使用されています.1-2干渉計は、微小変位、屈折率変化、および表面の不規則性を測定するために科学および産業で広く使用されています。 分析科学では、物質または混合物に関連する吸収または放出の特徴を含む光を分析するために、連続波フーリエ変換分光法で干渉計が使用される。 天文干渉計は、信号を合成する2つ以上の別々の望遠鏡から構成され、個々の要素間の最大間隔に等しい直径の望遠鏡と同等の分解能を提供する。
