Imbolc utawa Imbolg, uga disebut Brighid's Day, minangka pagelaran Gaelic sing diwiwiti awal musim semi. Paling umum iki diselenggarakake tanggal 1 Februari, utawa kira-kira separo antarane solstice mangsa lan equinox spring. Secara historis, iki ditrapake sacara wiyar ing Irlandia, Skotlandia lan Isle of Man. Iku minangka salah sawijining papat pangaturan musiman ing Gaelic-bebarengan karo Beltane, Lughnasadh lan Samhain-lan cocok karo Welsh Gŵyl Fair y Canhwyllau. Kristen ndelok minangka dina pesta Saint Brighid, utamane ing Irlandia. Imbolc kasebut ing sawetara sastra Irlandia wiwitan lan ana bukti sing wis dadi tanggal penting wiwit jaman kuna. Dipercaya yèn asliné iki minangka pagelaran pagan sing ana gegayutan karo dewi Brighid lan sing dikristenisasi minangka fèstival Saint Brighid, sing dhèwèké dianggep minangka Kristenisasi dewi. Ing Imbolc, salib Brighid digawé lan tokoh Brighid kaya boneka, diarani Brídeóg, bakal diundur saka omah menyang omah. Brighid diarani ngunjungi omah siji ing Imbolc. Imbolc or Imbolg, also called Brighid's Day, is a Gaelic festival marking the beginning of spring. Most commonly it is held on 1 February, or about halfway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. Historically, it was widely observed in Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man. It is one of the four Gaelic seasonal festivals—along with Beltane, Lughnasadh and Samhain—and corresponds to the Welsh Gŵyl Fair y Canhwyllau. Christians observe it as the feast day of Saint Brighid, especially in Ireland. Imbolc is mentioned in some of the earliest Irish literature and there is evidence it has been an important date since ancient times. It is believed that it was originally a pagan festival associated with the goddess Brighid and that it was Christianized as a festival of Saint Brighid, who herself is thought to be a Christianization of the goddess. At Imbolc, Brighid's crosses were made and a doll-like figure of Brighid, called a Brídeóg, would be paraded from house-to-house. Brighid was said to visit one's home at Imbolc.
