Newspeak

Newspeak minangka basa fiksi ing novel Ninelasen Eighty-Four, ditulis dening George Orwell. Iki minangka basa kontrol sing digawe dening negara totalitarian minangka alat kanggo matesi kebebasan pikiran, lan konsep sing menehi ancaman marang rezim kayata kamardikan, ekspresi diri, individualitas, lan perdamaian. Sembarang wangun pamikiran alternatif kanggo partai mbangun diklasifikasikaké minangka "pikirane". Newspeak diterangake ing bab 4 lan 5 saka Sembilan belas Eighty-Four, lan ing lampiran buku. Basa kasebut nderek, paling larang, aturan grammatis sing padha karo basa Inggris, nanging luwih akeh, lan uga ngowahi kosakata. Sembarang sinonim utawa antonim, bebarengan karo konsep sing ora dikarepake bakal dibusak. Tujuane kanggo saben wong bisa nganggo basa iki ing taun 2050. Ing wektu sing padha, Oldspeak isih diucapake ing antarane Proles-warga kelas pekerja Oseania. Orwell diilhami kanggo nyipta Newspeak kanthi basa sing dibangun Basic English, sing disedhiyakake saka taun 1942 nganti 1944 sadurunge kanthi tegas nolak ing esai "Politik lan Basa Inggris". Newspeak is the fictional language in the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, written by George Orwell. It is a controlled language created by the totalitarian state as a tool to limit freedom of thought, and concepts that pose a threat to the regime such as freedom, self-expression, individuality, and peace. Any form of thought alternative to the party’s construct is classified as a "thoughtcrime". Newspeak is explained in chapters 4 and 5 of Nineteen Eighty-Four, and in an appendix to the book. The language follows, for the most part, the same grammatical rules as English, but has a much more limiting, and constantly shifting vocabulary. Any synonyms or antonyms, along with undesirable concepts are eradicated. The goal is for everyone to be speaking this language by the year 2050. In the mean time, Oldspeak is still spoken among the Proles—the working-class citizens of Oceania. Orwell was inspired to invent Newspeak by the constructed language Basic English, which he promoted from 1942 to 1944 before emphatically rejecting it in his essay "Politics and the English Language".
