퍼 옥시다아제는 과산화물 (일반적으로 과산화수소)의 환원 작용을 촉매하는 효소입니다. 이 반응은 주로 독성 과산화물을 제거하는 역할을하지만 사람의 갑상선 호르몬 인 티록신 (thyroid hormone thyroxine)의 합성에서 요오드화물을 산화시키는 역할을한다. 다른 한편으로, 카탈라아제의 역반응은 일부 퍼 옥시 다제에서 과산화수소를 생성 시키는데 사용된다. 퍼 옥시다아제는 모든 생명체에서 발견되는 17 효소가 다섯 개 유전 효소 결핍 질환에서 (DUOX2, MPO, TPO, EPX, CAT)을 알려져있는, 발견 된 인간이 될 수있다. 환원제 (괄호 첨가) 기타 전자 공여체를 사용할 때, 그 후에 추가로 분류이다. (레드 시토크롬 c) 카탈라아제 (과산화수소의 제 분자), 시토크롬 C 옥시다아제, 갑상선 과산화 효소 (요오드), 글루타티온 퍼 옥시 다제 (글루타치온)에서만 식물과 망간 퍼 옥시다아제 (망간 (II))와 리그닌 (lignin-degrading enzyme)은 균류에서 발생한다. 과산화수소 한편, 다른 한편으로 Katalasefunktion의 반전, NADPH (듀얼 다제)와 산소의 환원을 사용하는, 제조한다.

Peroxidasen sind Enzyme, welche die Reduktion von Peroxiden (meist Wasserstoffperoxid) katalysieren. Die Reaktion dient hauptsächlich der Entfernung der giftigen Peroxide, aber auch zur Oxidation von Iodid bei der Synthese des Schilddrüsenhormons Thyroxin im Menschen. Die Umkehrreaktion der Katalase wird dagegen in manchen Peroxidasen zur Erzeugung von Wasserstoffperoxid genutzt. Peroxidasen sind in allen Lebewesen zu finden, beim Menschen sind 17 solcher Enzyme entdeckt, von denen bei fünf erbliche Enzymmangelkrankheiten bekannt sind (DUOX2, MPO, TPO, EPX, CAT). Als Reduktionsmittel dienen unterschiedliche Elektronendonatoren (in Klammern angefügt), wonach die weitere Einteilung erfolgt: Katalase (ein zweites Molekül Wasserstoffperoxid), Cytochrom-c-Peroxidase (red. Cytochrom c), Thyreoperoxidase (Iodid), Glutathionperoxidase (Glutathion), die nur in Pflanzen vorkommende Ascorbatperoxidase und die in Pilzen vorkommenden Manganperoxidase (Mangan(II)) und Ligninase (Lignin abbauendes Enzym). Soll Wasserstoffperoxid erzeugt werden, wird einerseits die Umkehrung der Katalasefunktion, andererseits die Reduktion von Sauerstoff mit NADPH (duale Oxidase) genutzt.
