동질성 또는 동성 학성 (그리스어 ἄλλος (allos), "다른"을 의미하는 "τρόπος (tropos)"에서 "방식, 형태"를 의미 함)은 두 가지 또는 그 이상의 형태로 존재하는 화학 원소의 속성으로 이의 동족체로 알려져있다 집단. Allotropes는 요소의 구조적 변형이 다르다. 원소의 원자가 서로 다른 방식으로 결합된다. 예를 들어, 탄소의 동소체에는 다이아몬드 (탄소 원자가 사면체 격자 배열로 함께 결합 된 것), 흑연 (탄소 원자가 육각형 격자의 시트로 함께 결합 된 것), 그래 핀 (흑연 단일 시트) 및 풀러렌 (여기서 탄소 원자는 구형, 관형 또는 타원형으로 결합되어있다). 동질성이라는 용어는 단지 원소가 아닌 화합물을 위해 사용됩니다. 결정 성 물질에 사용되는 좀 더 일반적인 용어는 다형성입니다. 동질성은 동일한 상 (즉, 상이한 고체, 액체 또는 기체 형태) 내의 상이한 형태의 원소만을 의미한다; 이 다른 상태는 그 자체로는 동질성의 사례로 간주되지 않는다.
