Chromatophores는 cold-blooded animals에서 피부와 눈의 색깔을 생성하는 데 크게 관여하며 배아 발달 과정에서 신경 볏에서 생성됩니다. 성숙한 색소 포자는 흰색 빛 아래에서 색소를 기반으로하는 하위 클래스로 분류됩니다. xanthophores, erythrophores, iridophores, leucophores, melanophores 및 cyanophores. 용어 chromatophore는 광합성 박테리아의 일부 형태에서 발견되는 착색 된 멤브레인 - 관련 소포를 지칭 할 수도 있습니다. 베셀 일부 종은 염색체를 전위시키고 색좌표 내의 반사판을 재배치하는 기작을 통해 빠르게 색을 변화시킬 수 있습니다. 위장의 한 유형으로 자주 사용되는이 과정을 생리 학적 색 변화 또는 metachrosis라고합니다.
