수상 돌기 (Dendrites)는 다른 신경 세포에서받은 전기 화학적 자극을 수상 돌기가 돌출되어있는 신경 세포의 세포 또는 몸으로 전파하기 위해 작용하는 신경의 분지 된 투영입니다. 전기적 자극은 돌기 나무 전체의 여러 지점에있는 시냅스를 통해 상류 뉴런에 의해 수상 돌기로 전달됩니다. 수상 돌기는 이러한 시냅스 입력을 통합하고 뉴런에 의해 활동 전위가 생성되는 정도를 결정하는 데 결정적인 역할을합니다. 면역계 수지상 세포의 긴 성장은 수상 돌기 (dendrites)라고도합니다. 이것들은 뉴런의 수상 돌기와 혼동되어서는 안됩니다. 수지상 세포는 포유 동물의 면역계에서 항원 제시 세포입니다. 그들의 수상 돌기는 전기 신호를 처리하지 않습니다. Dendrites는 뉴런의 세포체에서 돌출하는 원형질 돌출부의 두 가지 유형 중 하나이며, 다른 유형은 축색 돌기입니다. Axons은 모양, 길이 및 기능을 포함한 여러 가지 기능에 의해 수상 돌기와 구별 될 수 있습니다. 수상 돌기는 종종 모양이 가늘어지고 짧아지며 축삭은 일정한 반경을 유지하고 상대적으로 길다.
