동물 사회주의의 조직 중 최고 수준 인 유럽 사회주의는 협동 농장 관리, 성인 식민지 내의 중복 된 세대, 생식 및 비 재생산 집단으로의 노동 분열과 같은 특징으로 정의된다. 노동 분업은 때때로 카스트 (castes)라고 불리는 동물 사회 내에서 특수 행동 그룹을 창출합니다. Eusociality는 다른 모든 사회 시스템과 구별된다. 왜냐하면 적어도 하나의 카스트를 가진 사람들은 다른 카스트에 속한 개인의 특징 하나 이상의 행동을 수행 할 능력을 상실하기 때문이다.
