로마화와 라틴 화 - 두 용어의 역사적, 문화적 의미에서 - 로마 공화국과 후기 로마 제국에 의한 새로 조직 된 주변 인구의 문화 화, 통합 및 동화와 같은 다양한 역사적 과정을 나타냅니다. 파시스트 시대까지 고대 로마의 역사서와 이탈리아의 역사서는 이러한 다양한 과정을 "야만족의 문명화"라고 불렀다. 문화적 정체성은 위에서 아래로 나아 갔다. 상층 계급은 먼저 로마 문화를 채택했고 오래 된 방법은 농부들 사이에서 외지에서 가장 오랜 시간 지속되었다. 인질들은이 과정에서 중요한 역할을했다. 모레 타니에서 갈리아까지의 엘리트 어린이들이 로마에서 자랐고 교육을 받았다. 고대 로마의 역사서와 전통 이탈리아 역사학은 "야만족의 문명"과 관련된 여러 과정을 자신있게 나타냈다. 현대 사학자들은 로마와의 평화를 통해 지역 엘리트들이 자신들의 위치를 더욱 안전하게 만들고 자신들의 명성을 강화할 수 있다고 생각합니다. 새로운 주제에는 개인 및 집단 가치에 대한 연구와 인종 형성의 개인적 측면 인 정체성 구축이 포함됩니다.
