유방 조영술은 인간의 유방을 검사하기 위해 저에너지 엑스레이를 사용하는 과정으로 진단 및 검사 도구로 사용됩니다. 유방 조영술의 목표는 전형적으로 특징적인 종괴 및 / 또는 미세 석회화를 통한 유방암의 조기 발견입니다. 모든 X- 레이와 마찬가지로 유방 조영술은 이미지를 만들기 위해 전리 방사선을 사용합니다. 방사선 전문의는 비정상적인 결과가 있는지 이미지를 분석합니다. 뼈의 방사선 촬영에 사용되는 것보다 낮은 에너지의 X 선을 사용하는 것이 일반적입니다. 초음파, ductography, 양전자 방출 유방 X 선 촬영법, 자기 공명 영상은 유방 조영술의 부속물입니다. 초음파 검사는 전형적으로 유방 조영술이나 유방 조영술에 보이지 않는 만져서 보이는 질량에 대한 추가 평가에 사용됩니다. 유방 X 선이 유방암 진단이 아닌 경우 유두의 유두를 평가하기 위해 일부 기관에서는 여전히 Ductogram을 사용합니다. Mammography is the process of using low-energy X-rays to examine the human breast and is used as a diagnostic and a screening tool. The goal of mammography is the early detection of breast cancer, typically through detection of characteristic masses and/or microcalcifications. Like all X-rays, mammograms use doses of ionizing radiation to create images. Radiologists then analyze the images for any abnormal findings. It is normal to use lower-energy X-rays than those used for radiography of bones. Ultrasound, ductography, positron emission mammography, and magnetic resonance imaging are adjuncts to mammography. Ultrasound is typically used for further evaluation of masses found on mammography or palpable masses not seen on mammograms. Ductograms are still used in some institutions for evaluation of bloody nipple discharge when the mammogram is non-diagnostic. MRI can be useful for further evaluation of questionable findings as well as for screening pre-surgical evaluation in patients with known breast cancer to detect any additional lesions that might change the surgical approach, for instance from breast-conserving lumpectomy to mastectomy.
