Gynogenesis와 pseudogamy는 정자 또는 꽃가루가 난자의 배아를 발달 시키지만 배아에 유전 적 기여를하지 않는 밀접한 관련 현상입니다. 이 현상의 세포학 및 유전학의 나머지 부분은 parthenogenesis의 그것과 거의 동일하다. parthenogenesis라는 단어는 그리스어 παρθένος, parthenos, "처녀"및 "출생"을 의미하는 γένεσις, genesis에서 유래합니다. 이 용어는 때때로 한 개인의 신체에서 남녀의 생식 기관을 포함하기 때문에 혼자서 번식 할 수있는 자웅 동성 개체의 복제 모드를 설명하는 데 부정확하게 사용됩니다.
