실용주의는 미국에서 1870 년경에 시작된 철학적 전통입니다. 실용주의는 사상의 기능이 현실을 묘사, 표상 또는 거울에 비유하는 것이라는 생각을 거부합니다. 대신, 실용 주의자는 생각의 기능이 예측, 행동 및 문제 해결을위한 도구 또는 도구라는 생각을 중심으로 철학을 전개합니다. 실용 주의자들은 지식, 언어, 개념, 의미, 신념 및 과학의 성격과 같은 대부분의 철학적 주제가 대표 정확성 측면보다는 실제 활용 및 성공 측면에서 가장 잘 보인다고 주장합니다. 실용주의 : 모든 지식과 정당화 된 신념이 궁극적으로 비선상의 지식이나 정당화 된 신념의 기초 위에 머무른다는 주장을 거부하는 정당화에 대한 일관된 이론 (coherentistism of justification)은 실용 주의적 접근에서 일하는 철학자의 다양성이지만 상호 연관된 위치의 일부이다. 유목 주의자들은 칭의가 신념들 사이의 어떤 관계의 함수 일 뿐이며, 그 중 어느 것도 정당화의 기초 론적 이론에 의해 유지되는 방식으로 특권 신념이 아니라고 주장한다.
