전달 물질은 생물학적 유체에서 유리 철의 수준을 제어하는 철 결합 혈장 당 단백질입니다. 인간 트랜스페린은 TF 유전자에 의해 코딩됩니다. 트랜스페린 당 단백질은 철을 매우 단단하지만 가역적으로 결합시킵니다. 트랜스페린에 결합 된 철은 전체 인체 철의 0.1 % 미만이지만 회전율이 가장 높은 철제 저장고입니다. 트랜스페린은 약 80 KDa의 분자량을 가지며 두 개의 특이적인 고친 화성 Fe 결합 부위를 포함한다. Fe에 대한 트랜스페린의 친화력은 극도로 높지만 중성 이하에서 pH가 감소함에 따라 점진적으로 감소한다. 철분에 결합하지 않을 때는 "apotransferrin"으로 알려져 있습니다.
