부가가치세는 소비세의 한 형태입니다. 구매자의 관점에서 볼 때 구매 가격에 대한 세금입니다. 판매자의 관점에서 볼 때, 이는 회계, 생산 또는 유통의이 단계까지 제품, 재료 또는 서비스에 부가 된 가치에 대해서만 세금을 부과합니다. 제조업체는이 두 금액 간의 차이를 정부에 지불하고 이전에 투입물에 대해 지불 한 세금을 상쇄하기 위해 나머지는 그대로 유지합니다. VAT의 목적은 법인 소득세 또는 개인 소득세와 유사한 정부 세수를 창출하는 것입니다. 비즈니스에 의해 또는 비즈니스와 함께 제품에 부가되는 가치는 고객에게 부과되는 판매 가격에서 자재 및 기타 과세 대상 비용을 뺀 값입니다. VAT는 궁극적으로 최종 소비자에게만 세금이 부과된다는 점에서 판매 세와 같습니다. 후자의 경우 세금은 최종 소비자의 구매 시점에 한 번만 징수되어 정부에 송금된다는 점에서 판매 세와 다릅니다. 부가 가치세 (VAT)와 함께, 정부에 대한 수금, 송금, 이미 지불 된 세액 공제는 공급망에서 사업체가 제품을 구매할 때마다 발생합니다.

A value-added tax is a form of consumption tax. From the perspective of the buyer, it is a tax on the purchase price. From that of the seller, it is a tax only on the value added to a product, material, or service, from an accounting point of view, by this stage of its manufacture or distribution. The manufacturer remits to the government the difference between these two amounts, and retains the rest for themselves to offset the taxes they had previously paid on the inputs. The purpose of VAT is to generate tax revenues to the government similar to the corporate income tax or the personal income tax. The value added to a product by or with a business is the sale price charged to its customer, minus the cost of materials and other taxable inputs. A VAT is like a sales tax in that ultimately only the end consumer is taxed. It differs from the sales tax in that, with the latter, the tax is collected and remitted to the government only once, at the point of purchase by the end consumer. With the VAT, collections, remittances to the government, and credits for taxes already paid occur each time a business in the supply chain purchases products.
