한국어 사전에서 부피바카인 의 정의
부피바카인 국소마취약으로 화학적으로는 메피바카인과 많이 유사한 구조를 가지고 있으나, 마취작용은 메피바카인이나 리도카인보다 4배나 강하며, 지속시간도 2~3배나 길다. 따라서 본약은 장시간의 국소마취작용을 얻고 싶은 경우에 이용되는 것으로, 침윤마취에는 0.25%로 약 200분, 또한 신경 블록이나 경막외 블록에서는 0.25~0.5%로 3~6시간의 마취를 얻을 수 있다. 부작용은 다른 국소마취약과 마찬가지로 과량의 경우 경련, 순환허탈등이 일어나며, 심근억제도 약간 강하다고 한다.
