Candi merupakan tempat sembahyang atau kuil penganut agama Hindu-Buddha. Candi merupakan istilah yang popular di Indonesia tetapi di Malaysia tempat sembahyang penganut Hindu disebut kuil. Tempat sembahyang penganut Buddha dipanggil tokong. Candi juga boleh menggambarkan betapa kuatnya pengaruh Hindu-Buddha di sesuatu tempat itu. Hal ini dapat diperlihat melalui karya ukiran atau arca yang terdapat pada dinding candi. Candi juga merujuk kepada monumen agama Hindu Buddha yang telah wujud sebelum kedatangan agama Islam di Nusantara. Di Malaysia, candi tertua yang diketahui ialah Candi Lembah Bujang, Kedah, utara Malaysia Barat. Beberapa artifak telah ditemui dalam beberapa aktiviti arkeologi dan kini disimpan dalam Muzium Arkeologi Lembah Bujang.
