Notes, IV, 196; Juilland 157) și consideră o nuanță de vulgaritate; cu toate că este un cuvînt foarte folosit în limbajul comun, apare rareori în literatură. Din
tc. provin și
ngr. βάχτ,
alb. baft, bg.,
sb. bacht. – Stamati folosește de mai multe ori cuvîntul
baftă, cu sensul de „gură, cioc”; nu cunoaștem rațiunea acestei întrebuințări, care nu apare la alt autor și pe care nu o găsim în dicționare. –
