크 릴즈는 해양 무척추 동물입니다. 이 갑각류는 고래, 고양이, 상어, 게와 같은 동물의 일상 식단 인 동물성 플랑크톤의 중요한 부분입니다. 이 해양 생물 외에도 새들이 많이 있지만, 주로 크 릴리 (krilli)를 먹는 물개도 있습니다. 새우의 학명은 Euphausiacea라는 이름으로 부여되는 Euphausiids입니다. "크릴 (krill)"이라는 이름은 노르웨이에서 유래 한 것으로 "어릴 적 물고기"를 의미하며이 용어는 다른 해양 생물, 특히 어류에 기인 한 용어입니다. 크릴은 지구상의 모든 바다에서 만난다. 이 생물들은 이보다 더 큰 해양 동물들로 구성된 영양 체인의 첫 번째 연결 고리이며, 따라서 그들의 기본적인 음식을 구성하기 때문에 특히 중요합니다. 남극 해양 지역에는 유칼립투스라는 과학적인 이름을 가진 남극 새우라고 불리는 일종의 크릴 류가 있습니다. 남극 크릴 리의 양은 약 5 억 톤으로 추정되며 그 중 절반은 고래, 물개, 펭귄, 송아지, 물고기입니다.

Krillii sunt animale nevertebrate marine. Aceste crustacee sunt o parte importantă din zooplancton, hrana zilnică a unor animale precum balenele, pisica de mare, rechini, crabi. Pe lângă aceste viețuitoare marine, mai există anumite păsări, dar și foci ce se hrănesc în principal cu krilli. Denumirea științifică pentru krill este euphausiids dat după numele ordinul Euphausiacea. Denumirea de „krill” vine din norvegiană unde înseamnă „puiet de pește”, acest termen fiind atribuit și altor specii marine, în special pești. Krillul se întâlnește în toate oceanele de pe Terra. Aceste viețuitoare au o importanță deosebită, deoarece sunt prima verigă a lanțului trofic compus din animale marine mai mari decât aceștia, și astfel constituind hrana de bază a acestora. În zona marină din Antarctica există un tip de Krill denumit krillul antarctic ce are denumirea științifică de Euphasia superba. Cantitățile de krilli din Oceanul Antarctic sunt estimate la aproximativ 500 de milioane de tone, din care jumătate este consumată balene, foci, pinguini, calmari, pești.
