Slavlar ya da İslavlar, Avrupa'da yaşayan en kalabalık etnik topluluktur. Daha çok Avrupa'nın doğusunda ve güneydoğusunda yaşarlar. Ayrıca Asya'nın kuzey kesimlerinde de yaşamaktadırlar. Slavlar; Doğu Slavları, Batı Slavları ve Güney Slavları olmak üzere üç gruba ayrılırlar. Ruslar, Ukraynalılar ve Beyaz Ruslar Doğu Slavları grubuna girer. Polonyalılar, Çekler ve Slovaklar Batı Slavları grubuna girer. Boşnaklar, Hırvatlar, Sırplar, Karadağlılar, Bulgarlar, Pomaklar, Slovenler, Makedonlar, Torbeşler Güney Slavları grubuna girer. Slavlar dini bakımdan Ortodokslar ve Katolikler olarak iki ana grupta toplanır. Ayrıca Müslüman ve Protestan Slavlar da vardır. Ortodoks Slavlar geleneksel olarak Kiril alfabesini, Katolik ve Müslüman Slavlar ise Latin alfabesini kullanırlar.
