सोव्हिएट युनियनच्या नेतृत्वाखाली 1 9 4 9 1 ते 1 99 1 मध्ये परस्पर आर्थिक सहाय्य परिषदेने पूर्वसंपादनाचे काम केले होते. त्यामध्ये ईस्टर्न ब्लॉकच्या देशांचा समावेश होता. पश्चिमी आशियातील युरोपियन आर्थिक सहकार्याची संघटना तयार करण्यासाठी ईस्टर्न ब्लॉकचे उत्तर Comeomon होते. कूटनॉन आणि त्याच्या अवयवांच्या थेट कार्यासाठी मर्यादित नसण्याऐवजी वर्णनात्मक संज्ञा बहुतेक सर्व बहुपक्षीय संघटनांना लागू होती. सदस्यामध्ये द्विपक्षीय संबंधांमुळे त्याचा उपयोग वाढविला गेला, कारण समाजवादी आंतरराष्ट्रीय आर्थिक संबंधांमध्ये बहुपक्षीय करार बहुतेक सर्वसाधारण स्वभावाच्या अधिक विस्तृत, द्विपक्षीय करारांच्या माध्यमातून अंमलबजावणी करण्याकडे कल होता. काही इतिहासकारांच्या मते मॉस्कोला मार्शल प्लॅनबद्दल चिंता होती. यानंतर सोसायटीच्या प्रभावातील अमेरिकन आणि दक्षिण-पूर्व आशियातील देशांच्या दिशेने जाण्यापासून ते जगाला रोखणे शक्य झाले.
