मिठाई जेवण एक निष्कर्ष काढला सामान्यतः गोड कोर्स आहे अभ्यासक्रमांमध्ये सामान्यतः गोड पदार्थ असतात परंतु त्यामध्ये इतर गोष्टींचा समावेश असू शकतो. केक्स, कुकीज, बिस्किटे, जेलॅटिन, पेस्ट्री, आइस क्रीम, पाई, पुडिंग आणि कॅंडीसह पश्चिमी संस्कृतीत विविध प्रकारचे मिठाई आहेत. त्याच्या नैसर्गिकरित्या होत असलेल्या गोडवामुळेदेखील मिठाईचे अभ्यासांत सामान्यतः फळ देखील आढळले जाते. बर्याच वेगवेगळ्या संस्कृतींमध्ये त्यांच्यासारख्याच मिठाईच्या रशियासारख्याच डेझर्ट असतात, जिथे अनेक नाश्ता पदार्थ जसे कि ब्लिंट, ओलडी आणि सिरनिकी यांस डेझर्ट म्हणून लोकप्रिय बनविण्यासाठी मध आणि जाम सह सर्व्ह करता येते. डेझर्ट म्हटल्या जाणार्या सुशिक्षित अभ्यासक्रमास अनेक पदार्थांना लागू होऊ शकतात.
