नेत्र तपासणी नेत्ररोगतज्ज्ञ, ऑप्टोमेट्रिस्ट किंवा ऑर्थोप्स्टिकचा दृष्टिकोन आणि त्यावर लक्ष केंद्रित करण्याची आणि ऑब्जेक्टची जाणीव करण्याची क्षमता तसेच त्याचबरोबर इतर चाचण्या आणि डोळे तपासणीची परीक्षा यांद्वारे करण्यात येणारी एक चाचणी आहे. आरोग्यसेवा करणार्या व्यावसायिकांनी नेहमीच अशी शिफारस केली आहे की सर्व लोकांकडे नियमीत प्राथमिक काळजीचा एक भाग म्हणून नियतकालिक आणि कसून तपासणी असावी, विशेषत: कारण बर्याच डोळ्यांच्या आजारांमधे असंपयित असणे आवश्यक आहे. नेत्र तपासणी संभाव्य उपचारक्षम अंधा नसलेले डोळरोग, व्यवस्थित रोगाचे डोळ्यांचे प्रकटन, ट्यूमरच्या चिन्हे किंवा मेंदूच्या इतर विकृतींचे शोधू शकतात.
