हेसियोड एक ग्रीक कवी होता. साधारणतः विद्वानांनी 750 ते 650 च्या दरम्यान कार्य केले होते. त्याची पहिली युरोपीयन कविता आहे ज्यामध्ये कवी स्वत: ला एक विषय म्हणून मानतो, खेळण्यासाठी विशिष्ट भूमिका असलेली व्यक्ती. ग्रीक धार्मिक रीतीरिवाज स्थापन करून प्राचीन लेखकांनी आणि होमरला श्रेय दिले. आधुनिक विद्वानांनी त्याला ग्रीक पौराणिक कथा, शेतीची तंत्रे, लवकर आर्थिक विचार, पुरातन ग्रीक खगोलशास्त्र आणि प्राचीन समय पाळणे यावर एक प्रमुख स्त्रोत म्हणून संबोधले आहे.
