हायड्रोमीटर
द्रवपदार्थाचा विशिष्ट गुरुत्व मोजण्यासाठी वापरला जाणारा एक जलमापक आहे; म्हणजे पाणी घनता द्रव घनता च्या गुणोत्तर. हायड्रोमीटर हा सहसा काचेचा बनलेला असतो आणि त्यामध्ये बेलनाकार स्टेम आणि एका बल्बचा समावेश असतो जो पारासह भारित केला जातो किंवा त्याला सरळ फ्लोट करता यावे. परीक्षेसंबंधी द्रव एका उंच कंटेनरमध्ये ओतले जाते, बहुतेकदा एक पदवीधर सिलेंडर असते आणि ते मुक्तपणे फ्लोट होईपर्यंत हायड्रोमिटर हळुवारपणे द्रव मध्ये खालावली जाते द्रव्यांच्या पृष्ठभागावर हाड्रोमिटरच्या स्टेमला स्पर्श करणारा मुद्दा लक्षात घेतला आहे. हायड्रॉटरिमीटरमध्ये सामान्यतः स्टेममध्ये स्केल असते, त्यामुळे विशिष्ट गुरुत्व थेट वाचता येऊ शकते. विविध प्रकारचे सापळे अस्तित्वात आहेत, आणि संदर्भानुसार त्याचा वापर केला जातो. दुधाचा घनता मोजण्यासाठी लॅक्टोमीटर, हायड्रॉमीटरचा उपयोग द्रवांमध्ये घनतेचा घनता मोजण्यासाठी एक सॅचोरोमीटर, किंवा प्राण्यांमध्ये अल्कोहोलचा उच्च स्तर मोजण्यासाठी अल्कोहोलमीटरसाठी वेगवेगळ्या उपयोगांसाठी कॅलिब्रेट केला जाऊ शकतो.
