इमिग्रेशन म्हणजे एखाद्या देशात किंवा प्रदेशातील लोकांच्या हालचाली, ज्यामध्ये ते स्थायिक होण्याकरिता मूळ नसतात, विशेषतः कायमस्वरुपी इमिग्रेशन अनेक कारणांचा परिणाम आहे, आर्थिक समृद्धी, राजकीय कारणांमुळे, कौटुंबिक पुन्हा एकीकरण, संघर्ष किंवा नैसर्गिक आपत्तीतून पळून जाणे किंवा एखाद्याच्या परिसरात बदलण्याची इच्छा असणे.
