खालसा हे पाच प्रेमानंद्वारे दर्शविलेल्या सर्व आरंभ झालेल्या शीखांचे सामूहिक शरीर आहे आणि त्यांना गुरु पंथा, गुरूचे स्वरूप आणि शीख समाजातील गुरु / शीख असे म्हटले जाऊ शकते. खालसा हा शब्द "प्रभु / स्वतंत्र" आहे. आणखी एक अर्थ असा आहे "शुद्ध / अस्सल". 30 मार्च 16 99 रोजी दहाव्या शीख गुरू गुरु गोबिंद सिंह यांनी ख्ळसाचे उद्घाटन केले.त्यानंतरपासून शिखांच्या अस्थायी नेतृत्वावर ते देण्यात आले, "गुरू पंथा" चे शीर्षक आणि अध्यात्मिक नेतृत्व गुरू ग्रंथ साहिबकडे सोपवले गेले आणि ते सर्व शीख समाजातील कार्यकारी, सैन्य आणि नागरी अधिकारांसाठी जबाबदार होते. खालसा नावाचा पाच किलो आणि सिंग व कौर या शीर्षकासह ओळखले जाऊ शकते जे शिष्य नंतर खालसाच्या ऑर्डरमध्ये बाप्तिस्मा होत आहेत.

The Khalsa is the collective body of all initiated Sikhs represented by the five beloved-ones and can be called the Guru Panth, the embodiment of the Guru and the final temporal Guru/leader of the Sikhs. The word Khalsa translates to "Sovereign/Free". Another interpretation is that of being "Pure/Genuine.” The Khalsa was inaugurated on March 30, 1699, by Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru. From then on the temporal leadership of the Sikhs was passed on to the Khalsa with the bestowed title of "Guru Panth" and spiritual leadership was passed on to the Guru Granth Sahib with the Khalsa being responsible for all executive, military and civil authority in the Sikh society. The Khalsa is also called the nation of the Sikhs. The Sikhs of the Khalsa can be identified with the given Five Ks and titles of Singh and Kaur which are gained after the disciple is being baptized into the order of the Khalsa.
