आकडेवारीमध्ये, डेटा सेट घटकातील परिपूर्ण विचलन म्हणजे त्या घटकामध्ये आणि दिलेल्या बिंदूंदरम्यान पूर्ण फरक आहे. विशेषत: विचलन केंद्रीय मूल्यावरून गणली जाते, याचे आकलन काही प्रकारचे सरासरी म्हणून होते, बहुतेकदा माध्यिया किंवा काहीवेळा डेटासेटचा अर्थ. डि हे परिपूर्ण विचलन आहे, xi हा डेटा घटक आहे आणि मीटर सेट केलेल्या डेटाच्या केंद्रीय प्रवृत्तीची निवड केलेली मोजमाप आहे-कधीकधी मध्य, पण बहुतेकदा मध्यक.
