नेगेव्ह दक्षिण इस्रायलचा एक वाळवंट व शेकडो क्षेत्र आहे. उत्तर प्रदेशातील बीयरशेबा हे या देशाचे सर्वात मोठे शहर आणि प्रशासकीय राजधानी आहे. त्याच्या दक्षिणेस अंबाडा अबाबाची आखात आणि एलाटचा रिसॉर्ट शहर आहे. त्यात डिमोनाने, अराद आणि मिट्पे रामनसह अनेक विकास शहरे आहेत, तसेच रथ आणि टेल स-सबाई यासारख्या छोट्या शेजारील शहरे आहेत. रेव्हिव्हीम आणि एसडी बोकरसह अनेक किब्बुत्झिम देखील आहेत; राजकारणातून निवृत्त झाल्यावर इस्रायलचे पहिले पंतप्रधान डेव्हिड बेन-गुरीयन यांचे घर बनले. वाळवंट नेगेव्हच्या बेन-गुरियन विद्यापीठाचे निवासस्थान आहे, ज्याच्या जैकोब ब्लॉस्टीन इन्स्टिट्यूट फॉर डेजर्ट रिसर्च आणि अल्बर्ट काटझ इंटरनॅशनल स्कूल फॉर डेझर्ट स्टडीज आहेत, जे एसडी बोकरच्या जवळ असलेल्या मिद्रेशेट बेन-गुरियन कॅम्पसमध्ये आहेत. ऑक्टोबर 2012 मध्ये, ग्लोबल प्रवासी मार्गदर्शक प्रकाशक लोनली प्लॅनेटने 2013 साठी जगाच्या सर्वात पुढे असलेल्या दहा प्रादेशिक प्रवासी स्थळांच्या यादीत नेवेज दुसऱ्या क्रमांकावर असल्याचे म्हटले आहे.
