फेअर ट्रेडिंग कार्यालय 1 9 73 मध्ये स्थापन झालेली फेअर ट्रेड अॉॉफिस ऑफ द युनायटेड किंग्डमची गैर-फायदेशीर आणि गैर-मंत्रिमंडळ शासकीय विभाग होती, जी यूकेच्या आर्थिक नियामक म्हणून काम करत असलेला उपभोक्ता संरक्षण आणि स्पर्धा कायदा दोन्ही लागू करते. ओएफटीचे ध्येय म्हणजे ग्राहकांना चांगले काम करणे, वाजवी व्यवसायातील व्यवसायांमध्ये झपाटय़ाने स्पर्धा करणे आणि दुष्ट व्यवहार, स्कॅम आणि गाड्या यासारख्या अयोग्य पद्धतींचा वापर करणे. एंटरप्राइज ऍक्ट 2002 नुसार त्याची भूमिका सुधारित करण्यात आली आणि त्याची शक्ती बदलली. बिझनेस इनोव्हेशन आणि कौशल्य विभागाने यूके कंझ्युमर संरक्षण आणि स्पर्धा शासनाच्या सुधारणांची घोषणा केली आहे. एंटरप्राइज आणि रेग्युलेटरी रिफॉर्म अॅक्ट 2013 च्या तरतुदींनुसार, स्पर्धा आणि बाजार प्राधिकरण 1 एप्रिल 2014 रोजी ओएफटी आणि कॉम्पिटिशन कमिशनच्या बर्याच फंक्शन्स एकत्रित करून आणि दोन्ही भागून घेण्यात आले.
