ऑनोकोकेरिसियासिस, ज्याला नदी अंधत्व आणि रॉबल्स रोग असेही म्हणतात, परजीवी कीटक ऑनोकोकेर्का व्हॉलव्हुलसमुळे संसर्गामुळे झालेली एक रोग आहे. [1] लक्षणांमधे तीव्र खाज, त्वचेखाली अडथळे आणि अंधत्व यांचा समावेश होतो. [1] ट्रॅकोमा नंतर संसर्ग झाल्यामुळे अंधत्वाचे हे दुसरे सर्वात सामान्य कारण आहे. [2] परजीवी कीडा Simulium प्रकाराच्या काळ्या माशीच्या चाव्याव्दारे पसरतो. [1] संक्रमण होण्याआधी सहसा पुष्कळ चावणे आवश्यक असतात. [3] या मृतांमध्ये नद्यांच्या जवळ राहतात, त्यामुळे रोगाचे नाव आहे.
