पॅराग्लिडिंग हे फ्लाइंग पॅराग्लिडर्सची मनोरंजक आणि स्पर्धात्मक साहसी खेळात आहे: हलके, फ्री-फ्लाइंग, फूट-लॉन्च केलेले ग्लायडर विमाने, कोणतेही कठोर प्राथमिक बांधकाम नसलेले. पायलट एका फॅब्रिक विंगच्या खाली निलंबित केलेल्या एका कामात बसतो ज्यात मोठ्या संख्येने आंतरजोडी केलेले गोंधळलेले पेशी आहेत विंग आकार निलंबन ओळींनी चालविला जातो, पंखांच्या पुढे वेंद्रात हवा आत प्रवेश करणे आणि हवेच्या वायुगतिमान सैन्या बाहेरून वाहते. इंजिनचा वापर न करता पॅराग्लिडर फ्लाइट अनेक तास टिकू शकतात आणि कित्येक कि.मी. कपाटांना व्यापू शकतात, तरीही 1 ते 2 तासांचा फ्लाइट आणि काही किलोमीटरचे कोहिमा पूर्ण करणे सर्वसामान्य प्रमाण आहे. लिफ्टच्या स्रोतांच्या कुशलतेच्या शोषणामुळे पायलटला उंची मिळू शकते आणि सहसा काही हजार मीटरच्या उंचीवरून चढता येते. पॅराग्लाइडर्स सहजपणे पोर्टेबल असणारे मानवी वाहून आणणारे विमान आहेत. पूर्ण उपकरणे पलंगाकडे वळतात आणि पायलटच्या मागे, एका कारमध्ये, किंवा सार्वजनिक वाहतूक वर सहजपणे जाऊ शकतात. अन्य वायु क्रीडाच्या तुलनेत हे योग्यरित्या योग्य टेकऑफ स्पॉट, लँडिंग जागेची निवड आणि परतीच्या प्रवासाचा प्रवास सुलभ करते.
