व्हॅन ऍलन रेडिएशन बेल्ट हे ग्रहांच्या चुंबकीय क्षेत्राद्वारे ग्रह पृथ्वीभोवती फिरत असलेल्या ऊर्जावान कणांचे कमीतकमी दोन स्तर आहेत. बेल्ट हे सुमारे 1000 ते 60,000 किलोमीटरच्या पृष्ठभागाच्या पृष्ठभागाच्या वरून वाढते. ज्या प्रदेशातील रेडिएशनची पातळी भिन्न असते. बेल्ट तयार करणारे बहुतेक कण सौर ऊर्जा आणि अन्य कणांपासून कॉस्मिक किरणांद्वारे येतात असे मानले जाते. बेल्टचे नाव, जेम्स व्हॅन ऍलन यांचे शोधक म्हणून केले जाते आणि ते पृथ्वीच्या चुंबकीय क्षेत्राच्या आतील भागात स्थित आहेत. या बेल्टमध्ये ऊर्जेचा इलेक्ट्रॉन्स असतो जो बाह्य बेल्ट बनवतात आणि प्रोटिन आणि इलेक्ट्रॉनचे एक संयोजन जे आंतरिक बेल्ट बनवतात. याशिवाय रेडिएशन बेल्ट्समध्ये अल्फा कणसारख्या अन्य मध्यवर्ती घटकांची कमी मात्रा असते. बेल्टस् उपग्रहांना धोक्यात घालतात, ज्यामुळे त्यांचे कक्षा विकिरण पट्ट्यांमध्ये बराच वेळ खर्च करते तर त्यांच्या संरक्षणातील घटक सुरक्षित ठेवतात. 2013 मध्ये, नासाच्या मते व्हॅन ऍलेन प्रोब्स यांनी एका क्षुल्लक, तिसर्या रेडिएशन बेल्टचा शोध लावला होता, जो सूर्यापासून एका शक्तिशाली, आंतरप्रादेशिक शॉक लाइटने नष्ट होईपर्यंत चार आठवड्यांपर्यंत दिसून आला होता.
