स्पर्धा कायदा कंपन्यांद्वारे स्पर्धा-विरोधी आचरणांचे नियमन करून बाजारातील स्पर्धा राखण्यासाठी प्रोत्साहन देते किंवा इच्छिते. स्पर्धा कायदा सार्वजनिक आणि खाजगी अंमलबजावणी स्पर्धेच्या माध्यमाने अंमलात आणला जातो ज्याला अमेरिकेतील antitrust law म्हणतात आणि चीन आणि रशियातील एकाधिकार विरोधी कायदा म्हणतात. पूर्वीच्या वर्षांत युनायटेड किंग्डम आणि ऑस्ट्रेलियातील व्यापार प्रथा कायदा म्हणून ओळखले जाते. स्पर्धा कायदा इतिहास परत रोमन साम्राज्य पोहोचते बाजार व्यापारी, संघ आणि सरकारच्या व्यवसायाच्या पद्धती नेहमी तपासणीस अधीन असतात आणि कधीकधी गंभीर प्रतिबंध असतात. 20 व्या शतकापासून स्पर्धा कायदा जागतिक बनला आहे. स्पर्धा विनियमनची दोन सर्वात मोठी आणि सर्वात प्रभावशाली व्यवस्था अमेरिकेच्या अस्ताव्यस्त कायदा आणि युरोपियन युनियन स्पर्धा कायदा आहे. जगभरातील राष्ट्रीय आणि प्रादेशिक स्पर्धा प्राधिकरणांनी आंतरराष्ट्रीय समर्थन आणि अंमलबजावणी नेटवर्क तयार केल्या आहेत. आधुनिक स्पर्धा कायदा ऐतिहासिकदृष्ट्या देशात-पातळीवर विकसित केला गेला आहे, विशेषत: राष्ट्रा-राज्याच्या प्रादेशिक सीमारेषांमध्ये बाजारपेठेमध्ये उचित स्पर्धा चालविणे आणि त्याचा राखणे.
