गार्ग्य संज्ञा पुं० [सं०] [स्त्री० गार्गी] १. गार्ग गोत्र में उत्पन्न पुरुष । २. एक प्रचीन वैयाकरण जिनके मत का उल्लेख यास्क और पाणिनि ने किया है । निरुक्त टींकाकार दुर्गासिंह के अनुसार सामवेद के पदपाठ की रचना इन्हीं ने की थी । इनकी बनाई एक स्मृति भी है ।
