Penghapusan, juga dipanggil penghapusan gen, adalah sejenis mutasi gen atau mutasi kromosom dalam genetik, di mana urutan nukleotida atau sebahagian daripada urutan nukleotida hilang. Penghapusan sentiasa kehilangan bahan genetik. Bilangan asas nukleotida yang dipadamkan tidak ditubuhkan, ia boleh terdiri dari satu pangkalan kepada keseluruhan kromosom.
