Adar
Adar adalah bulan keenam tahun sivil dan bulan kedua belas tahun gereja pada kalendar Ibrani. Ia adalah bulan musim sejuk selama 29 hari. Pada tahun lompat, ia didahului oleh bulan intercalary selama 30 hari bernama Adar Aleph, Adar Rishon atau Adar I dan kemudiannya sendiri disebut Adar Bet, Adar Sheni atau Adar II. Kadang-kadang bukannya Adar I dan Adar II, "Adar" dan "Ve'Adar" digunakan. Adar I dan II berlaku pada bulan Februari-Mac pada kalendar Gregorian. Berdasarkan garis dalam Mishnah yang menyatakan bahwa Purim harus dirayakan di Adar II pada tahun lompat, Adar I dianggap bulan "ekstra".
