Audit
Takrif umum audit adalah aktiviti yang dirancang dan didokumenkan yang dilakukan oleh kakitangan yang berkelayakan untuk menentukan dengan penyiasatan, pemeriksaan, atau penilaian bukti objektif, kecukupan dan pematuhan dengan prosedur yang telah ditetapkan, atau dokumen yang berkenaan, dan keberkesanan pelaksanaannya. Istilah ini boleh merujuk kepada audit dalam perakaunan, kawalan dalaman, pengurusan kualiti, pengurusan projek, pengurusan air, dan pemuliharaan tenaga. Pengauditan ditakrifkan sebagai pemeriksaan data, kenyataan, rekod, operasi dan persembahan perusahaan yang sistematik dan bebas untuk tujuan yang dinyatakan. Dalam mana-mana pengauditan juruaudit merasakan dan mengiktiraf cadangan-cadangan yang di hadapannya untuk pemeriksaan, mengumpul bukti, menilai yang sama dan atas dasar ini merumuskan penghakimannya yang disampaikan melalui laporan auditnya. Tujuannya adalah untuk memberi pendapat tentang kecukupan kawalan dalam persekitaran yang mereka audit, untuk menilai dan meningkatkan keberkesanan proses pengurusan risiko, kawalan, dan tadbir urus.
