Avidin
Avidin adalah protein yang mengikat biotin tetramerik atau dimerik yang dihasilkan di oviducts burung, reptilia dan amfibia dan didepositkan ke dalam putih telur mereka. Dalam telur ayam putih, avidin membentuk kira-kira 0.05% daripada jumlah protein. Protein tetramerik mengandungi empat subunit yang sama, masing-masing yang boleh mengikat biotin dengan tahap afiniti dan kekhususan yang tinggi. Pemalar pemisahan avidin diukur menjadi KD ≈ 10-15 M, menjadikannya salah satu ikatan bukan kovalen yang paling ketara.
