A basidium adalah struktur mikroskopik, menghasilkan spora yang terdapat pada badan hymenophore daripada buah berbiji basidiomycete. Kehadiran basidia adalah salah satu ciri utama Basidiomycota. Basidium biasanya mengandungi empat spora seksual yang disebut basidiospores; kadang-kadang bilangannya mungkin dua atau bahkan lapan. Dalam asas basidium biasa, setiap basidiospore ditanggung di ujung sempit atau tanduk yang dipanggil sterigma, dan secara paksa dilepaskan apabila matang.
