Kalus merupakan kawasan kulit yang sukar ditumbuk dan menjadi agak tebal dan keras sebagai tindak balas kepada geseran, tekanan, atau kerengsaan yang lain. Menggosok yang terlalu kerap atau berkuat kuasa akan menyebabkan lepuh dan bukan membiarkan kalsium membentuk. Oleh kerana hubungan berulang diperlukan, kalsium paling sering dijumpai di kaki kerana sering berjalan. Calluses umumnya tidak berbahaya, tetapi kadang-kadang boleh membawa kepada masalah lain, seperti ulserasi kulit atau jangkitan.
