Pulau-pulau mempunyai iklim subtropika, dengan musim panas yang hangat dan musim sejuk yang cukup panas. Disebabkan lokasi mereka di atas lapisan penyongsangan suhu, gunung-gunung tinggi di pulau-pulau ini sesuai untuk pemerhatian astronomi.
