Coelacanths merupakan perintah ikan yang jarang berlaku yang merangkumi dua spesies yang masih ada dalam genus Latimeria: coelacanth Laut India Barat dan coelacanth Indonesia. Mereka mengikuti garis keturunan Sarcopterygii yang tertua, yang bermakna mereka lebih berkait rapat dengan paru-paru, reptilia dan mamalia berbanding dengan ikan berpelekat sinar. Mereka ditemui di sepanjang garis pantai Lautan Hindi dan Indonesia. Oleh kerana terdapat hanya dua spesis coelacanth dan keduanya terancam, ia adalah susunan haiwan yang paling terancam di dunia. Coelacanth Ocean Barat adalah spesies yang terancam punah. Coelacanths tergolong dalam subclass Actinistia, sekumpulan ikan berpelekat berpeluk yang berkaitan dengan lungfish dan ikan Devonian tertentu seperti osteolepiforms, porolepiforms, rhizodonts, dan Panderichthys. Coelacanths dianggap telah pupus dalam Late Cretaceous, tetapi ditemui semula pada tahun 1938 di luar pantai Afrika Selatan.
