Concretion
Satu konkrit adalah keras, jisim padat batu sedimen yang dibentuk oleh pemendakan simen mineral di dalam ruang antara butiran sedimen. Concretions sering berbentuk ovoid atau bulat, walaupun bentuk tidak teratur juga berlaku. Perkataan 'konkrit' berasal dari bahasa Latin con yang bermaksud 'bersama' dan crescere bermaksud 'berkembang'. Konkrit membentuk dalam lapisan lapisan sedimen yang telah disimpan. Mereka biasanya membentuk awal dalam sejarah kuburan sedimen, sebelum seluruh sedimen menjadi keras. Simen konkrit ini sering menjadikan konkrit lebih keras dan lebih tahan terhadap cuaca daripada lapisan hos. Terdapat perbezaan penting untuk menarik antara konkrit dan nodul. Konkrit terbentuk daripada pemendakan galian di sekeliling sejenis nukleus manakala nodul adalah badan gantian.
