Cubeb, atau lada ekor, atau shini chini / kabab chini dalam bahasa Hindi adalah tumbuhan dalam genus Piper, ditanam untuk buah dan minyak patinya. Ia kebanyakannya ditanam di Jawa dan Sumatera, oleh sebab itu kadang kala dipanggil lada jawa. Buah-buahan dikumpulkan sebelum mereka masak, dan dengan hati-hati dikeringkan. Cubebs komersial terdiri daripada buah kering, yang serupa dengan penampilan lada hitam, tetapi dengan batang yang dilampirkan - "ekor" dalam "lada ekor". Pericarp kering berkedut, dan warnanya berkisar dari coklat keabu-abuan hingga hitam. Benih keras, putih dan berminyak. Bau cubebs digambarkan sebagai sesuai dan aromatik dan rasa seperti pedas, acrid, sedikit pahit dan berterusan.
