Input sensasi dan parasympatetik dibawa ke ganglion geniculate melalui intermedius nervus. Serat motor dibawa melalui saraf muka yang sesuai. Saraf petrosal yang lebih besar, yang membawa serabut deria serta gentian parasympathetic preganglionik, muncul dari aspek anterior ganglion.
