Geode
Geodes adalah struktur menengah geologi yang berlaku di batuan sedimen dan gunung berapi tertentu. Mereka sendiri berasal dari sedimen yang terbentuk oleh pemendakan kimia. Geodes pada dasarnya adalah berongga, longgar spheroid untuk mengaburkan massa bahan mineral yang mungkin terbentuk dari salah satu daripada dua proses yang berbeza: ▪ dengan pengisian vesikel di gunung berapi ke batu sub-gunung berapi oleh mineral yang didepositkan dari cecair hidrotermal atau ▪ oleh pembubaran sedimen nodul atau konkrit dan pengisian separa oleh mineral yang sama atau lain yang dicetuskan dari air diagenetik, air bawah tanah atau cecair hidroterma.
